I am a fully qualified BANT and CNHC Registered Nutritional Therapist who completed my training at the renowned Institute for Optimum Nutrition (ION), an accredited course, founded by Patrick Holford, author of the ‘Optimum Nutrition Bible’.
Having completed my training at ION, I decided to continue my studies with the BSc (Hons) Nutritional Therapy programme at the Centre for Nutrition Education and Lifestyle Management Centre (CNELM), in which I graduated with a first-class honour’s degree in Nutritional Therapy.
Having lost my mother to cancer when I was 10 years old meant that my diet growing up had been far from perfect. I had IBS since my teenage years which I just accepted as ‘normal’. In my 20’s my diet improved (what I thought was good!) as I was exercising a lot and competed in body building competitions (yes I really did do body building!). A period of stress followed in which my body seemed to go wrong overnight. I saw doctors’ numerous times and all my conventional tests were completely ‘normal’, but I felt far from ‘normal’. I was recommended to see a Nutritional Therapist and with her help, I was able to get my health back on track. The Nutritional Therapist was able to identify and explain factors that were affecting my health and I was provided with a programme to support my gut health as well as supporting my stress response through diet, nutritional supplements and herbs and lifestyle changes. This inspired me to study nutritional therapy so that I could understand in depth how the body works functionally and how to support health using evidence-based nutritional science and lifestyle medicine. I feel so privileged that I can share my knowledge with you and support you to optimise your health.
As well as a passion for nutrition, I love to exercise, running, cycling and going to the gym. I also love being outside in the countryside and going for long country walks with my lively Springer Spaniel dog in which we also compete at canicross (cross country running attached to my dog).
I have a particular interest in digestive health, immune health, stress and anxiety, weight management, blood sugar balance, energy production and nutrition for runners.
